Delhi, 31 August: Former president of India Pranab Mukherjee dies at the age of 84 in an army hospital in Delhi.
After suffering from septic shock from a lung infection while recovering from brain surgery.
In a political career lasting 5 decades, he held important portfolios like in Finance, Defence, and External affairs.
He was sworn as 13th president of India in 2012.
Awarded Bharat Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian award in 2019.
On 10 August 2020, he was tested covid-19 positive prior to his surgery to remove a brain clot.
On 13th August he went into deep coma after brain surgery and dies today, he was 84.
